How a London weekend tends to go
Friday is club nights, gallery openings and the first night of anything that runs all weekend. Sealed addresses often drop on Friday afternoon.
Saturday daytime is sample sales, markets, brand pop-ups and run clubs. Saturday night is the big one.
Sunday is slower: long lunches, supper clubs, day parties, the flower and vintage markets in the east, and the last day of the sample sales, which is when the prices drop.
Getting the most out of it
- Look on Wednesday or Thursday. That's when most weekend drops are already on and RSVP places are still open.
- Get on things early. Guestlists close, and RSVP drops fill up.
- Turn on alerts in the app and it will tell you when something goes on within about a kilometre of you.
- If a drop is sealed, plan around the area. The address comes to your phone when it's time.
- The Night Tube runs on Friday and Saturday nights, so late finishes are easier on those two.
A free weekend
Walk-in, RSVP and guestlist drops are free, and most of what's on the map is one of the three. Add the free museums, the markets and a run club, and a London weekend can cost you the bus fare. See free things to do in London.
