Sample sales in London
A sample sale is a brand selling stock it can't sell normally, like samples, past seasons and overstock, at a big discount for a few days, usually in a hired space. London has more of them than anywhere else in the UK. They're one of the best ways to buy good clothes for less, if you know how they work and hear about them in time.

How they work
Most run for two to five days. Some open the first morning to a list (people who signed up, or the brand's friends and press) before opening to everyone. Stock doesn't come back, so the first day has the most choice and the last day has the lowest prices.
In London, many happen in east London event spaces around Shoreditch and Brick Lane, and in central London showrooms. See Whitechapel and Brick Lane.
What to expect
- Queues on the first morning, sometimes long ones for big names.
- Card only, more often than not.
- Few or no fitting rooms. Wear something you can try things on over.
- All sales final. Check for marks and damage before you pay; samples are samples.
- Limits per person on the most wanted pieces.
Kilo sales
A kilo sale sells vintage by weight. You fill a bag, it's weighed, you pay the price per kilo. Heavy coats cost more than T-shirts, so think about what you're picking up. The best pieces go in the first hour.
How they show up on SendMeTheDrop
Brands drop their sample sales on the map, usually as walk-in or RSVP. Tap the button and you'll get a reminder before it opens, plus any changes, like an early-access slot or a final-day markdown. If the brand is running a list-only first day, that will be a guestlist drop.
Running one? Put it on the map. It's free to list.
