Markets in London
London's big markets are open every week and easy to find. Borough for food, Columbia Road for flowers, Brick Lane and Spitalfields for vintage, Camden for everything. Around them is a second layer that's harder to catch. Makers' markets for one weekend, night markets in car parks, record fairs, kilo sales. Those go on the map as drops.
One-off markets coming up

The regular ones, by day
- Most days. Borough Market by London Bridge (food), Old Spitalfields Market (stalls and food), Camden Market.
- Saturday. Broadway Market in London Fields, Portobello Road for antiques and vintage, the arches on Ropewalk in Bermondsey.
- Sunday. Columbia Road flower market in the morning, Brick Lane and the Truman Brewery's markets, Marylebone farmers' market, and car boots in school playgrounds across the city.
- Opening days and hours change, so check each market's own site before you go.
The one-offs
Makers' markets bring together independent sellers for a weekend in a brewery, an arch or a gallery, and are busiest in November and December. Night markets are food, drink and a DJ in a car park or yard. Kilo sales sell vintage by weight. Record fairs turn up most months somewhere in east or south London.
None of these have fixed calendars, which is why they're on the map. See also sample sales and pop-ups.
Tips
- Go early for the best stock, late for the best prices.
- Most stalls take cards now, but bring some cash for the smaller ones and for car boots.
- Weekend afternoons at Borough, Camden and Columbia Road are packed. Weekday lunchtimes and early mornings are calmer.
